Hillsboro United Methodist Church

The Hillsboro United Methodist Church voted in November 2023 to leave the United Methodist denomination due to philosophical and theological differences.

The final decision to separate will be made at the 2024 New England Annual Conference in June 2024 when delegates will vote to ratify this decision.

Pastor Paul O’Neil will retire on June 30th, 2024 which will also be the final service of the Hillsboro United Methodist Church.

On July 7th, 2024, the newly formed Hillsboro Methodist Church of the Global Methodist Church denomination will hold the first service in the same church location.

A sister church, the Henniker Area Christian Fellowship is also being formed as an offshoot of the Hillsboro United Methodist Church. It will also have its first service on July 7th at the Henniker Community Center which is the location of the old Henniker United Methodist Church. The focus of this fellowship is to reach the students of New England College for the gospel.
